Think about it.  What Samson needed to get the job done, we’ve got.  What Samson had, we have:  “Peter replied, ‘Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.  The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call’” (Acts 2:38-39).

Think of it. The Spirit of God lives in us. He enables us to do mighty things. Remember how Samson killed a thousand warriors with the jawbone of an ass? I’ve never seen a thousand slain by a jawbone. (I’ve seen a thousand put to sleep by a jawbone!) But, speaking of jawbones, did you know there’s power in the spoken story of Jesus? Enough power to change lives?

Do you want power? I’m telling you, we have more than enough power to do what God wants done! I don’t want power like Samson’s—power to kill people. (I’d be afraid I’d use it!) But, you know, the gospel does send people to their graves—they die with Christ, are buried with Christ and are raised, dripping, with Christ! That’s what a jawbone moving at the impulse of the love of God can do!
