Recently, I was watching a You Tube trailer for WATCHMEN, a movie I’ve never seen. In it, Rorshach, the tortured “hero” with an inkblot for a face, growls, “The world will look up and shout, ‘Save us’…and I’ll whisper ‘no.’”

I can’t think of that line without laughing. I can always find a real person to disappoint me, to not be there for me when I need him. No need to pay eight bucks at the theatre to underscore the fact, was there?

I think of the contrast between these fictional super-types and the real-life, real-time, real deal, the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And the peels of laughter roll.

“I’ll whisper ‘no.’” Gimme a break!
